"Churchless" faith

This was a topic at Greenbelt. I didn't manage to get to the talk an on reflection wish I had. Because of my peripetetic journeys this past year, I'm not really rooted anywhere, though I have home congregations in Houston that I feel strong connections to. As a practical matter, though, I've been functioning in "churchless" faith (or, perhaps less kindly, as a sort of spiritual tourist).

The point ... (the peanut gallery asks if I have one): what do you think of the notion of "churchless" faith and how does Holy Joes fit into that for you? Is "community" important (a sense of belonging to some group) even if it doesn't call itself church?
